This waste collection system includes a 20 liter Nalgene® HDPE rectangular carboy, a 70 mm 10-port polypropylene waste manifold with plugs, and a secondary container. Optional carbon exhaust filters and 1/4-28 tubing adapters can be added to your order; choose from the drop-down menu.

Port cap closed systems are ideal for the safe delivery of solvents to laboratory equipment such as HPLC and LC-MS systems, and may also be used for closed-system waste collection. A typical closed system uses one or more bottles to feed chemicals into equipment, with a separate waste container collecting spent solvent. Closed systems help prevent chemical evaporation from open containers, reducing hazards to employees and the environment.

Designed for Nalgene® 70 mm Carboys

Nalgene® makes a heavy-duty rectangular carboy with a 70 mm buttress thread; the included manifold is matched to this closure.

10-Port Waste Manifold

Carboy port caps feature larger holes in addition to the small 1/4-28 UNF holes: (6) Type A 1/4-28 UNF ports and (4) Type D 1/4" NPT ports (size L). For vapor control, attach a carbon exhaust filter to one of the Type D ports with a filter adapter such as CP-FPDL (sold separately). The polypropylene manifold has a free-spinning polypropylene collar. Plugs are included for all holes, but no tubing adapters; choose adapters based on your tubing size.

Secondary Containment

Each system includes a compliant secondary container to capture leaks and spills and help meet laboratory chemical storage requirements.

Important: Chemical compatibility depends on the solvent, concentration, temperature and all wetted components, including the polypropylene manifold, plugs and any adapters used. Aggressive solvents such as hexane, THF and methylene chloride can damage polypropylene. Verify the compatibility of the plastic container separately. Verify compatibility before use.
