Description
HPLC Waste Collection Kit for 51 mm Jerricans and Tighthead Containers: 10-Port Cap Manifold, Carbon Exhaust Filter and Adapters
This HPLC waste collection kit fits containers with a 51 mm threaded closure and includes everything you need to set up a closed, fume-reducing waste system: a 10-port polypropylene manifold port cap, a carbon exhaust filter with adapters, and a fittings kit with plugs and tubing connections for typical analytical-scale HPLC instruments. Choose the Basic Kit or the Plus Kit (with color-change indicator and PTFE tubing) from the drop-down menu.
HPLC, LC-MS, FPLC and SFC instruments generate a steady stream of volatile solvent waste. During waste collection, vapors must exit the container as it fills; our kits solve this with a chemical carbon exhaust filter, reducing exposure to hazardous vapors and helping labs keep waste lines safe and compliant.
Specifications:
- Fits containers with a 51 mm threaded closure
- 10-port polypropylene manifold: (6) Type A 1/4-28 UNF ports and (4) Type D 1/4" NPT ports
- Standard carbon exhaust filter with straight and 90 degree elbow adapters
- Plugs for unused ports plus barbed adapters and tube fittings for common lab tubing sizes
- Plus Kit adds a color-changing end-of-life indicator and 1.5 meters (5 ft) of PTFE tubing
Designed for 51 mm Jerricans and Tighthead Containers
The 51 mm thread is common on jerricans and "tighthead" blow-molded containers in North America. Many such containers are UN- or DOT-rated for the storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
Verify your container thread before ordering.
Why Polypropylene for Waste Collection
Although practically all of our port caps could be used for either solvent extraction or waste collection, the difference lies in the wetted materials and how ventilation is handled. With solvent waste, impurities are a low concern and economical solutions are preferable, so waste collection manifolds are made from polypropylene instead of PTFE. They can be custom-ordered in PTFE if your process requires higher chemical compatibility than polypropylene can provide.
Choose your kit from the drop-down menu:
| Part Number | Kit Model | Includes |
| CP-K51P-A | Basic Kit | 10-port polypropylene manifold cap, standard carbon exhaust filter with straight and 90 degree elbow adapters, fittings kit and plugs |
| CP-K51P-B | Plus Kit with Color-Change Indicator and Tubing | Everything in the Basic Kit, plus a color-changing indicator for real-time end-of-service-life detection for organic solvents, and PTFE tubing (1.5 meters / 5 feet) for detector outlets or short effluent tubes |
Kit Components:
| Port Cap | 10-port polypropylene manifold |
| Exhaust Filter | Standard carbon filter + 2 adapters (straight and 90 degree elbow) |
| Plugs | (6) PTFE Type A port plugs, (3) polypropylene Type D port plugs |
| Barbed Adapters | (1) barbed 1/4" Y-connector, (1) 3/8" ID, (3) 1/4" ID, (1) 3/16" ID and (1) 1/8" ID barbed adapters |
| Tube Fittings | (2) 1/16" OD, (2) 2.2 mm OD, (1) 2.5 mm OD and (3) 1/8" OD tube fittings |
| Plus Kit only | PTFE tubing (1.5 meters / 5 feet) and color-changing indicator for the carbon filter |
Important: Chemical compatibility depends on the solvent, concentration, temperature and all wetted components, including the polypropylene manifold, plugs and adapters. Aggressive solvents such as hexane, THF and methylene chloride can damage polypropylene; a PTFE manifold is recommended for these. Verify the compatibility of the container material separately. Verify compatibility before use.
Applications
- HPLC and LC-MS solvent waste collection
- FPLC and SFC waste lines
- Multi-instrument waste consolidation into a single container
- Fume reduction at the waste container with carbon exhaust filtration
With our kits, you will have everything you need to set up your waste collection system.
Please note: it is not possible to ground glass bottles, plastic carboys, drums and other non-Justrite® containers; this may result in a safety hazard with flammable solvents.
