Behenic Acid, also known as docosanoic acid, is a long chain hydrocarbon carboxylic acid. Behenic acid is isolated from the oil of the Ben-Oil Tree. It is used hair products and conditioners for its smoothing properties, as an anti-foaming agent and as an evaporation retardant in paint removers. Ungraded products supplied by LabChem are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or research purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
