This ready-to-use GL45 2-port safety cap kit creates a closed system on media bottles. It includes an ALW-Air-Valve air inlet valve, a plug and a 1/8" OD tubing adapter; all you need to supply is the 1/8" OD tubing and you are ready to work.

Volatile organic solvents are essential for many lab instruments, including HPLC, LC-MS, FPLC and SFC. However, their use poses significant health and safety risks. Our Solvent Extraction and Delivery Port Caps provide a dynamic, closed-system solution to safely manage these chemicals.

Designed for GL45 Glass Media Bottles

The GL45 screw thread is widely used on laboratory media bottles, including borosilicate glass bottles commonly used for solvent storage, reagent preparation and analytical chemistry applications. GL45 closures have a nominal 45 mm thread diameter and are not interchangeable with GL38 solvent bottle or 38-430 plastic bottle closures.

This port cap is specifically designed for GL45 threaded bottles. Verify bottle thread compatibility before installation.

Anti-Twist Spin Collar Design

The free-spinning polypropylene collar helps avoid twisted tubing: the inner PTFE section does not rotate once the cap is secured. Use the included adapter with 1/8" OD tubing in one port and the air inlet valve in the other to let air enter the bottle as solvent is removed, maintaining a closed system while preventing vacuum build-up.

Important: Chemical compatibility depends on the solvent, concentration, temperature and all wetted components, including the PTFE insert, EPDM O-ring, valve and adapter. Verify compatibility before use.

For labs which do not need to use grounded safety containers, we offer these port caps to adapt to standard media bottles.

Please note: it is not possible to ground glass bottles; this may result in a safety hazard with flammable solvents.
